Unified Track & Field Callout Meeting

There will be a callout meeting for anyone interested in participating in Unified Track and Field this season on Monday, March 4 immediately after school in the cafeteria. We need both student-athletes and student-partners for Unified Track. Relays are separated by gender so there is a need for both male and female athletes and partners as well. If you cannot make it to the meeting, please see Coach Cheyenne Wilson at school to get the information or email her at clwilson@warrick.k12.in.us WHAT IS UNIFIED TRACK? Unified Sports combines students with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team for sports training and competition. Special Olympics Indiana and the IHSAA are partnering for the eleventh year to sponsor Unified track and field competitions statewide and an IHSAA State Championship. The Unified track and field teams consist of an approximately equal number of athletes with intellectual disabilities (Unified Student Athletes) and athletes without intellectual disabilities (Unified Student Partners). Teams are co-ed and the competition is co-ed. Requirements for Unified Track and Field are the same as any other sport: - an approved physical must be on file (in Final Forms) prior to any participation - students must be enrolled in and passing at least 5 classes - a minimum of 8 practices are required prior to participating in any meets - students must participate in at least 75% of the scheduled meets to be eligible for the Sectional
