Coach Bob Harmon announces retirement

Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame member Bob Harmon has announced his retirement from teaching and coaching after 43 years (3 years at Kimball High School is Dallas, TX and 40 years at Castle High School). Coach Harmon took over the Castle Wrestling program during the 1984-1985 season. The program had 6 coaches over the first 16 years of the program prior to his arrival. During his 40 years at the helm of the program, Coach Harmon accumulated a record of 563-181 (75.7%) while never having a single losing season. Under his leadership, the Knights captured 30 Sectional Championships, 2 Team Regional Championships, a Semistate title in 1994, and Team State Final Four appearances in 2009 and 2010. During his tenure as coach, Coach Harmon's program produced 227 Individual Sectional titles from 124 different individuals, 90 SIAC titles from 52 wrestlers, 61 Regional titles from 40 individuals, and 23 Semi-State championships from 17 wrestlers while also producing 47 different State Qualifiers with 29 place winners and 9 State Championships from 8 State Champions. Coach Harmon was inducted into the Indiana High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2003. He has had a positive impact on thousands of students and wrestlers throughout his career and will be missed. We would like to wish Coach Harmon the best in his retirement!
