Castle High School is saddened by the loss of Coach Wayne Allen. Coach Allen was a math teacher at Castle High School where he coached girls tennis from 1995-1999 and girls basketball from 2003-2006. While coaching tennis, Coach Allen's teams went 70-16 with 4 Sectional titles and a Regional titles during his 5 seasons. He is more known for his coaching of girls basketball. While at the helm of the Lady Knights basketball program for only 4 seasons, he had tremendous success and helped make Castle Girls Basketball a perennial power. During his 4 year stretch, Castle won a Sectional Championship each season while also winning two SIAC titles (2003 and 2006), two Regional Championships (2005, 2006), a Semi-State Championship (2006), and culminated with the 2006 IHSAA 4A Girls Basketball State Championship where the Lady Knights defeated South Bend Washington and future WNBA start Skylar Diggins. Our thoughts are with Coach Allen's family during this difficult time. Thank you Coach Allen for your years of service to Castle High School and Castle High School Athletics.
