Girls Track Wins Third Straight Sectional Championship

On Tuesday night, at Mt. Vernon, the Castle Girls Track team won their third straight sectional championship. The Lady Knights were led by Gretchen Hurt who won both the shot put and the discus. Katy Beer won the Long Jump. Isabel Land won the 1600 meter run. Amaya Royal won the 100 meter dash. The 3200 meter relay team of Anna Seibert, Isabel Land, Molly Yunker, and Brooklyn Lutz also earned first place. Overall, Castle will advance an athlete or relay team in every event to Regionals next week at Central. Amaya Royal lowered her school record in the 100 meter dash to 12.23. The 400 meter relay team of Amaya Royal, Sophia Quach, Bella Cunningham, and Katy Beer also lowered their school record to 49.16.
